Allen Ralph Castle Coeburn, Virginia ~Allen Ralph Castle, 69 died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia. He was the son of the late Gordon Castle and Ethel Mae Castle; also preceded im death by two sisters, Rose Geraldine Bullion and Barbara Sue Castle; one brother, William Tennessee Castle. Survived by spouse, Nina Carol Greear Castle, Coeburn, VA, Three Daughters, Cheryl Baldwin, Christiansburg, OH, Tammy Noel, Christiansburg, OH and Darlene Cross, Juanita, FL; One Son, Glen Allen Castle, Clearwater, FL; sisters, Helen Loretta Conner, Wise, Margie Marie Castle, Coeburn, and Alice Mae Freeman, and husband, Johnny Mac, Lexington Park, MD; Brothers, Floyd Ernest Castle, Lexington Park, MD, Estle Harrison Castle and wife, Louise, Coeburn, Dallas Ray Castle, and wife Jenny, Fort Blackmore, VA, George "Benny" Castle, and wife, Judy, Kingsport, TN, Larry Bruce Sexton, Hylton, VA ; Two Step-Daughters, Donna Greear, Coeburn and Charma Vaughn, Kingsport; One Step-Son, Frankie Greear, Jr. Coeburn; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Allen Ralph Castle will be held Sunday 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and funeral services will be held on Sunday April 10, 2011 8:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Bolling officiating. Body will be cremated Monday April 11, 2011. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.

Donald Kennedy
Donald Denton Kennedy Coeburn, VA ~ Donald Denton Kennedy, 60, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 10, 2011 at his residence in Coeburn Virginia. He was an ex-coal miner and at his onset of sickness he was working for Liberty Towing. He was the son of the late John W. Kennedy and Luellen C. Kennedy; also preceded in death by brother, Johnny Kennedy; step-son, Shannon Mullins. Survivors include his wife, Tonia Mullins Kennedy, Coeburn; son, Donald Dewayne Kennedy, and wife, Amber, Coeburn; daughters, Heather Faye Courtney, and husband, Antwan, and Christa LeeAnn Odle, and husband, Jason all of Coeburn; brothers, Bobby Kennedy, Ohio, and Ronnie Kennedy, Coeburn; sister, Fredia Bush, Coeburn; Grandchildren, Dawson and Trevan Vanover of the home, Emily Kennedy, Coeburn, Nicky Mullins, Kiah Mullins, Dakota Mullins and their mom, Tammy Mullins of Jenkins, Ky., Colby Mullins and mom, Amanda Collins of Coeburn, Malachi Courtney and Stephanie Johnson of Coeburn, Justin, Cody, Tristan and Haley Issacs of Coeburn; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Donald Denton Kennedy will be held Tuesday April 12, 2011 after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. L. Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Eli Mullins Cemetery, Middle Fork of Bold Camp, in Pound, VA. Nephews will serve as Pall Bearers. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.

Margaret Hazel Holbrook
  Margaret Hazel Holbrook Lynchburg, VA ~ Margaret Hazel Grimes Holbrook, 90 passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg Virginia. She was a former resident of Coeburn, Va. She was the daughter of the late Robert D. Grimes and Bertha A. Grimes; also preceeded in death by two sisters, Aura Smith and Dorothy Virginia Ellis; three brothers, Carl Grimes, Ronald Grimes and Robert Grimes. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Smith, Lynchburg, VA; a son son, Ricky Holbrook, Lynchburg, VA; two brothers, Charles Edward Grimes, Coeburn, VA and David Grimes, Lynchburg, VA; 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, Several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and burial for Margaret Hazel Holbrook will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Kilgore Cemetery with Rev. Glen Hammacker officiating. The family will meet at the funeral home and leave in procession. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.

Billy Ray Gillenwater
Billy Ray Gillenwater Coeburn, VA ~ Billy Ray "Bill" Gillenwater, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, April 15, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was employed by Pittston Coal Company for 44 years. Bill was a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher of the First Baptist Church in Coeburn, VA. Also a member of Coeburn Masonic Lodge for 56 years and a U.S. Airforce Veteran. He was the son of the late Logan Wood Gillenwater and Nancy B. Gillenwater; also preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 49 years 7 months and 8 days, Shirley Porter Gillenwater, Coeburn; a daughter, Minnie Lynn Bates, Kingsport, TN; a son, Robert Ray Gillenwater, Big Stone Gap, VA; grandchildren, Christie Sorelle Culbertson, Zachary Ryan Bates, both of Kingsport,TN; grandson-in-law, Clifford Nathaniel Culbertson; two sisters, Barbara 'Tootsie' Collins, Mt. Carmel, TN and Gladys Stapleton, Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Jack Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN. Funeral services for Billy Ray "Bill" Gillenwater will be held on Sunday April 17, 2011 7:30 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Coeburn, VA with Rev. Steve Collins, Rev. Luke Martin and Rev. R.J. Rose officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday after 5:00 P.M. until funeral time. Burial will be Monday, April 18, 2011 at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will meet at the Church at 11:00 A.M. and leave in procession. Coeburn VFW will perform military graveside rites. Family and friends are invited to share dinner in his honor at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the graveside service. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.

Audrey Lucille Ward Sexton Coeburn, VA ~ Audrey Lucille Ward Sexton, 81 passed away April 21, 2011 at her residence in Coeburn Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Sand Ward and the late Jane Mae Ward; also preceeded in death by her husband, Marshall Lee Sexton, a daughter, Emma Gibson and a son, Shailer Sexton; several brothers and sisters. She is survived by six daughters, Patricia Begley, and husband, Larry, Nickelsville, Elsie Baker, and husband, Joseph, Coeburn, VA, Kathy Begley, and husband, Lester and Lorene Darnell, and husband, Howard all of Fort Blackmore, VA, Shirley Gibson, and husband, Bob, Blackstone, VA and Barbara Johnson, and husband, James, Surgoinsville, TN; Five sons, Homer Sexton and wife, Bonnie and David Sexton, all of Coeburn, VA, Richard Sexton, and wife, Ethel, Nickelsville, VA, Alonzo Sexton, and wife, Rosmary of Dungannon, VA and Elmer Sexton, and wife, Kendra, Fort Blackmore, VA; brother, Doug Ward, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Maxie Billinger, Marion, VA and Sadie Franks, 55 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Audrey Sexton will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Greear and Rev. Jimmy Darnell officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until funeral time. Burial will be held Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Sexton Cemetery, on Flatwoods Road in Coeburn, VA.

Inez Booher Breeding Coeburn, VA ~ Geneva Inez Booher Breeding, 80 passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia. She was the daughter of the late William T. Booher and Myrtle Booher; also preceeded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Breeding, a daughter, Deborah Sue Breeding; sister, Hilda "Billie" Wilson; brothers, Edd Booher, Douglas J. Booher and Buford "Tag" Booher. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Caudill, Big Stone Gap, VA and Brenda C. Nelms, Jonesborough, TN; one son, William "Bill" Breeding, Coeburn, VA; one sister, Judy Merian, Bristol, VA; two granddaughters, Amy Engelman, Bluff City, TN and Holly Breeding, Clintwood, VA. Funeral services will be held 8:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2011 at Trinity Life Center, 9829 Coeburn-Norton Road, in Coeburn, VA with Rev. John McCarroll officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 PM until funeral time. Entombment will be at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. The family will meet at Estes Funeral Home and leave in procession at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributios may be made to American Cancer Society.

Coeburn, VA ~ William Anthony Blackburn, 46, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, Virginia.
    Anthony was an avid hunter and loved riding his four wheeler.
    He was preceeded in death by maternal grandparents, William James and Kate Shepherd and paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Dora Ruth Blackburn.
    He is survived his mother, Shelby Jean Delp, Norton, VA; father, William Elbert Blackburn, Sharps Chapel, TN; one son, William Seth Blackburn, Wise, VA; two  brothers, Keith Blackburn, and wife, Brenda, Norton, VA and Brent Blackburn, and wife, Michelle, Coeburn, VA; 2 nephews, 2 nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and a host of friends.

   Visitation for Anthony Blackburn will be held, Wednesday after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. L. Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park.  Friends may also call at the mother's residence at 283 Virginia Ave. NW, Norton, VA. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.
