Paul Lyndon Estes Coeburn, VA ~ Paul Lyndon Estes, 69, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Four Oaks Health Care Center in Jonesborough, Tennessee, where he had been a resident since September 2008. He was the son of the late Homer Lyle Estes and Thelma Margaret Kelly Estes. Paul grew up in Coeburn and lived most of his adult life in Richmond, VA. He is survived by several cousins and their extended families. Visitation for Paul Lyndon Estes will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. til 1:00 P.M. and funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Sarver officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Coeburn Unithed Methodist Church, P.O. Box 638, Coeburn, VA 24230. Burial will follow at Coeburn Cemetery. Coeburn, VA ~ Terra Allen Lawson, 57 born June 27, 1954, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia.
    Terra was preceded in death by his father, Louna Lawson, Sr., his grandparents, John and Maggie Lawson, H.B. and Martha Kennedy all of the Bull Run Section of Coeburn.
   Terra, or Uncle T, as his family lovingly called him is survived by his mother, Edna Lawson, of the home, brothers, Louna (Donna) Lawson, Jr., Tim Lawson, Jonah Lawson, all of Coeburn and Andrew (Robin)  Lawson, St. Paul; two sisters, Sharon (Gary) Slemp and Vivian 'Vee' (Rick) Meadows both of Coeburn; also survived by several aunts and uncles.
   Uncle T was a devoted uncle and great-uncle to Angela Hayes and Ryan Meade (Chandler Glover, Drake and Jalen Meade), Regina and Travis Duty (Aaron and Allyson Duty) Jamie Fleming and Desmond Hill (Xavier and Tyrique Hill) Jessica and Steven Gullett (Hannah Gullett), Wesley Lawson, Joshua and Jennie Lawson (Logan Lawson), Zachary and Tiffany Lawson (Anthony Stanley), Caleb Lawson, Bryce Lawson, Heather Lawson, Kobe Lawson, Jarrett Lawson and Hayden Lawson.
   Uncle T has been and always will be and inspiration to those who have known and loved him.

   Funeral services for Terra Allen Lawson will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Joshua Lawson and Doug Trent officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Zachary Lawson, Wesley Lawson, Caleb Lawson, Steven Gullett, Bryce Lawson and Kobe Lawson. Coeburn, VA ~ Joan Marie Owens Pennington, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
    She was the daughter of the late John Allen Owens and Mary Elizabeth Blanton Owens. Also preceded in death by her husband, Erskine Pennington, a daughter, Patricia Ann Hamilton, and a son, Gregory Dean Pennington.
    Survivors include three sons, Thomas Dale Pennington, Gary Ray Pennington, and Larry Wayne Pennington, all of Coeburn; two sisters, Shelby Shelton, Coeburn, and Mary Elizabeth Adams, Norton; a brother, Thomas Owens, Winterhaven, FL; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

   Visitation and Funeral services for Joan Marie Pennington will be held on Friday February 3, 2012 after 6:00 P.M. and funeral at 8:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Wilson officiating. Burial will be 12 Noon Saturday February 4, 2012 at Temple Hill Memorial Park. Coeburn, VA ~ Mark Allen Odle, 53, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton, Virginia.
    He was preceased in death by his mother, Unita Garnette Odle,and a brother, Charles Wesley Odle.
    Mark is survived by his father, Charles William 'Bill' Odle, and two special friends, Bobby Salyer and Mark Clark, Coeburn; several aunt, uncles and cousins.

   Visitation and funeral services for Mark Allen Odle will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 after 6:00 P.M. and funeral at 7:30 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. J. Rose officiating. St. Paul, VA ~ Toy Freel Edwards, 99 passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at his residence in St. Paul, Virginia.
    He was the son of the late Leonard Edwards and Della Elkins Edwards; also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Kilgore Edwards; son-in-law, Ralph Collins, sisters, Dorothy Salyers, Myrtie Foster and Gladys McMurray; brothers, Bennett Edwards, Milburn Edwards and Roy Alex Edwards.
    He is survived by a son, Burnis Edwards, St. Paul; daughters, Judy Collins, Wise and Betty Jerleen Green and husband Roy, Richmond; brother, Emmitt Edwards, Blountville, TN; four grandchildren, Jennifer McNew and husband, Danny, Wise, Jeff Collins and wife, Jennifer, Wise, Wayne Green and wife, Sonia, Michael Green, and wife, Kristie, all of Richmond, VA; Great-Grandchildren, Hunter McNew, Kayleigh McNew, Cody Collins, Peyton Collins, Elena Green, Jacob Green and Lia Hannah Green; one great great grandson, Kaden Collins; several nephews and several nieces.

   Funeral services for Toy Freel Edwards will be held on Friday February 10, 2012 7:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Walter Rose Elmer Woods and Danny O'Quin officiating. Paul Wilmont Kennedy, left this earthly life on Feb. 9, 2012.
   He was born Dec. 4, 1923 on Sugar Hill near St. Paul, Virginia to the late William Lee and Leafy Talbert Kennedy. Paul retired from Clinchfield Coal Co with 28 years of service. He was a member of Coeburn Masonic Lodge # 97, Hugh Latham Oddfellow Lodge as well as a Past Worthy Patron of Coeburn Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #153. Also he was past commander of Mountain Empire Coeburn VFW #8652, DAV Chapter #11.
   As a teenager he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp.
   He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of WW II having fought in Africa and Italy, where he was awarded the Bronze Star with a Purple Heart.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by brothers, Sam, Glen, Lowell, Dave, Don and Bob; Sisters Frances, Sis (Clementine Hileman), and Boots (Beulah Sanslow).
   Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Celia Graham Kennedy; three daughters, Marsha (Shelton) Meade of Kingsport, TN, Phyllis (Paul) Buchanan of Coeburn and Tammy (Don) Hilt of Tannersville, VA; two sons Paul T (Butch) and (Faye) Kennedy of Radford and Audie (Alisa) of Wise; brothers, Rev. Roy (Lois) of St. Paul, Lelande (Betty) of Salem and Leon of Ervington; sisters-in-law, Louise Graham of Fulton, MS and Lois Kennedy of Abingdon; eight grandsons and three granddaughters; several great grand-children; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to Fern Ringley and Mountain Regional Home Health Care.
 
Visitation, and funeral services for Paul Wilmont Kennedy will be held on Sunday February 12, 2012 from 12 Noon til 2:00 P.M and Masonic services and funeral service at 2:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.     He was the son of the late Harvey Ransom and Myrtle Ellen Hall also preceeded in death by two sisters, Virginia Alice Castle and Mary Isabelle Buchanan; a brother, Robert Lee Hall.
    Survivors include two daughters, Ladonna North, Benham, KY and Janie Hensley, Corbin, KY; five sons, Darryl Robert Hall, and Ricky Allen Hall both of  Coeburn, Jimmy Ray Hall, Norton, Jerry Hall, Rogersville, TN and Ralph Hall, Cumberland, KY; two sisters, Marcella Jones, Marion, NC and Georgia Vess, Old Fort, NC; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
 
   Funeral services for Alfred Smith Hall will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. L. Crawford officiating. Coeburn, VA ~ Anna Ruth Watermann, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia.
   She was a former resident of Coeburn, Virginia.
   Mrs. Watermann of Gloucester, Virginia, taught at Thomas C. Walker High School for 30 years. She served as Assistant Principal, Instructor and founded the first yearbook at T.C. Walker High Shcool.
   Mrs. Watermann received a Bachlor of Arts Degree from Virginia Union University at Richmond, Virginia and did graduate studies at Howard University, Washington, DC. She received a Masters Degree from New York University.
   In 1968, Mrs. Watermann was nominated Outstanding Personality of the South, served as Jury Commissioner, co-chair of Gloucester Chapter of the American Red Cross Fund Driver, secretary of the Bicentennial Historical Committee, and served for 21 years as treasurer of the National Association of University Women (Gloucester Chapter.)
   Mrs. Watermann was honored by the Epsilon ETA Chapter, LOTA Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. for her community activities and as an outstanding educator in Cloucester, Virginia.
   She was the daughter of the late Samuel Alexander 'Sandy' Turner and Emma  Turner; also preceeded in death by her husband, William H. Waterman, a sister Louise Turner; 6 brothers, John Henry Turner, Robert Franklin Turner, Roy (Sandy) Turner, William Earl Turner, Hobert Turner and Sandy A. Turner.
    Survivors include two sisters, Clara B. Jackson, Kingsport, TN and Elizabeth Turner, Coeburn; and several neices and nephews.

   Visitation for Anna Ruth Waterman will be held on Monday February 27, 2012 after 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home burial will follow at Clinch  River Baptist Association Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Mabry officiating. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave.,  Coeburn, VA.

    She was a former resident of Coeburn, Virginia, but had lived in North Carolina for the last several years.
    She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Culbertson, Winterville, NC; two sons, Freddie Sims, Falkland, NC and Tim Sims, Greenville, NC, grandchildren, Marty Culbertson of Greenville, NC, Jeff Culbertson of Cove City, NC, Sandra Culbertson of Winterville, NC, and Greg Wiggins of Greenville, NC; 7 great grandchildren.

Kingsport, TN ~ Leon Tickles, 58 lost his battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport Tennessee.
   He was the son of the late Glen and Mary Tickles; also preceeded in death by two sisters, Lorrain Ramey and Betty Ramey; three brothers, Cecil Ramey, Perry Tickles, and Raymond Carson Ramey.
   He is survived by his wife, Diane Tickles, Kingsport, TN; three daughters, Vanessa Tickles, Kingsport, TN, Brandy (Butch) West, Tampa, FL and Melissa Ellenbrook, Valrico, FL; one son, Mark (Latha) Tickles, Tampa, FL; one sister, Shirley Sinkhorn, New Carlisle, OH; two brothers, Jewel (Debbie) Tickles, Bellevue, OH and Pete (Linda) Ramey, Piney Flats, TN; sister-in-law, Judy Ramey, Coeburn; 8 Grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews.

Daniel Seth Robinette Coeburn, VA ~ Daniel Seth Robinette, 30 was taken to his home prepared by the Master for those that love him, Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia. Sunset at Noon for Seth. Seth was a graduate of Coeburn High School in 2000 and Mountain Empire Community College. He was an avid artist, loved to spend time with family and friends and loved to make you smile. Everyone loved Seth and he loved everyone. He was preceeded in death by his father, Danny Louis Robinette. Seth is survived by his mother, Patricia Robinette; two sisters, Angela Robinette Rabon, and Jessica Leola Robinette, both of Coeburn; nephews, Jonah Robinette, Noah Rabon and niece, Carra Rabon; several aunts and uncles. The family lovingly thanks everyone who was so kind to Seth and supported him through the years. 'The dark threads are as needful in the Master's skillful hand , as the threads of gold and silver in the pattern he has planned.' Donald Joseph Adkins Coeburn, VA ~ Donald Joseph 'Donnie' Adkins, 64 died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Wellmount Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap Virginia. He was the son of the late Urin and Ada Adkins; also preceeded in death by two sisters, Elsie May Harvey and Della Marie Adkins; four brothers, Clifford Joe Adkins Sr., Garland Edward 'Baldy' Adkins, Buddy Frank Adkins and Freeman Adkins. Survivors include four daughters, Donna Bright, Karen Smith, and Renee Evans, all of Coeburn, and Sharon Sanders, Castlewood; two sons, D. J. Adkins, and Curtis Scott Adkins, both of Coeburn; one brother, Emory Adkins; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Woodrow and Lela Fields Collins; also preceeded in death by his wife, Constance Richardson Collins, two daughters, Charmin and Becky. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Harvey, Coeburn; five sons, Jason Matthew Collins, Jimmy 'Cricket' Collins, Tim Collins, D. A. Collins, and Joe Collins, all of Coeburn; a sister, Patricia Sturgill, Coeburn; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lillian James Bennett Coeburn, VA ~ Lillian James Bennett, 92, went to her Heavenly home Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Della "McConnell" James; also preceeded in death by her husband, Joseph Hardaway Bennett, a son, Bobby Bennett and a grandson, Bobby Bennett, Jr. Survivors include daughters, Catherine Loretta Hamm, Helen Markham, and Dorothy Roberts, all of Coeburn, Della Roberts, Wise, and Linda Bennett; one son, Edward Bennett, Whittier, CA. David Stone Ringley Coeburn, VA ~ David Stone "Stoney" Ringley, 42 died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport Tennessee. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries and Lowes Mill Works in North Carolina. He was preceeded in death by his father, Wayne Hugh Ringley, a sister, Jerri Lynn Ringley grandparents, Roy and Mae Ringley and George "Chic" and Betty Jo Bates. Survivors Kim Ringley mother of their son, David Stone Ringley II, his mother, Olene Fern Ringley, Coeburn; a sister, Kimary King, Coeburn; two brothers, Gregory D. Salyers, all of Coeburn; three sons, Donnie S. & Rebecca Willett Hayes, Montgomery, IL, Douglas H. & Sheila Osborne Hayes, Coeburn and Darrell A. & Brenda Hale Hayes, St. Paul; sister, Marie McCoy, St. Paul; sister-in-law, Juanita Johnson, Nora; step mother, Elizabeth Johnson; half brother, Lyndon B.     He was the son of the late William J. B. Marshall and Emma May Marshall; also preceeded in death by two sons, Terry Marshall and Jimmy Marshall; a sister, Roberta Langley; brothers, Billy Darvin Marshall, Phillip Marshall and Uriel Marshall; grandson, Bentley Marshall.
    He is survived by his wife, Lois Irene Smith Marshall, Castlewood, VA, daughters, Carol Cook, Brenton, WV, Sherry Campbell, Dante, Linda Steffey, Castlewood, and Nickey Marshall, both of Castlewood; sons, Michael Marshall, Castlewood, and Brandon Marshall, St. Paul; sisters, Franja Rose, Kingsport, TN and Yvonne Ayers, Cleveland, GA; brother, Bobby Harold Marshall, Lebanon, VA; Several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Coeburn, VA ~ Evone Nancy Fields Abbott, 77 passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol Tennessee.
    She was preceeded in death by her husband, Bruce Samuel "Sam" Abbott and son, Bobby J. Abbott; also parents Joe and Linda Fields; four sisters, Sarah Brown, Ruby Ramsey, Florence Haun and Joyce Rose; two brothers, Richard Fields and Robert Fields.
    Survivors include daughters, Betty Bruner, and husband Jared, Kathy Wright, and husband, Larry and Nancy Fleming, all of Coeburn; sons, David 'Crockett' Abbott and wife, Debbie, Lenoir City, TN and Clarence W. Abbott, Coeburn, sister, Dora 'Doddie' Gibson, and husband, Mickey, Strawberry Plains, TN; brothers, David Fields, Knoxville, TN, and Charles Fields, Lenoir City, TN; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Coeburn, VA ~ Ival Hurley Mitchell, 83 passed away Monday,April 23, 2012 at his home in Coeburn with his family at his side.
    He was preceeded in death by  two daughters, Cleda Elaine Mitchell, Lavon Mitchell and son, Darrell Hollyfield.
    He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roxie Payne Mitchell, Coeburn, VA, sons, David Mitchell and Hurley Mitchell, both of Knoxville, TN and Troy Holyfield, Coeburn.
    Brother, which he was called, retired at 55 from Jewell Ridge Coal Co. of the UMWA in Richlands, VA, where he lived with Roxie and Cleda.
    In 1984 he was called into full time ministery and for 28 years with his wife and her guitar by his side he did what he was called to do.
    Brother was a student of the Bible, a song leader who could recall hundreds of songs, a historian of times and events, as well as a reference for family genealogy.
    He taught by the 3 B's, Be Prepared, Be to the Point and Be Seated.
    In closing he would say; Be Prepared cause you to shall die. What a man, he practiced what he preached!

Coeburn, VA ~ Jimmy J. Proulex, 76 of Coeburn, VA journeyed to Heaven and his wife's side Wednesday, August 1, 2012. His son, granddaughter, niece and nephew were at his side.
   He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Betty E. Proulex; parents, Joseph Achile Akuila and Ida Ruth Nixon Proulex; two sisters, Emma Jean Farmer and Evelyn Ruth Powers; two brothers, Irby Proulex and Joseph Issac Proulex.
   He is survived a son, Jeffery Proulex and wife, Chantay and beloved granddaughter, Grayson Chanelle Reece Proulex, who was the light of his life. She brought much joy and happiness to him. Also surviving are his older brother Ray Proulex and wife Irene of Bristol, VA; sisters-in-law, Polly Proulex and Edna Adkins both of Coeburn; many nieces, nephews and a host of family, friends and close neighbors that include his life-long trusted friend and fishing buddy, Galen Reece of Coeburn.
   Retired from VICC; was a friend of Coal and understood the valuable resource which provided education, family incomes and fueled our nation.
   He was the oldest living patient with a mechanical Aortic heart valve replacement of his kind. He astonished many in the medical field. Jimmy and his heart was studied by doctors, interns and nurses as well as featured in many medical researches, studies and journals. His heart never failed him as many had said it would. He enjoyed roller-skating and was known county wise for his graceful abilities; traveled extensively in his retirement; and immensely enjoyed fishing even though he gave away most of his catch; camped with his family and in later years with his ever present schnauzer, Maxx, whom everyone knew and loved. Jimmy's other love was a 50 Model Ford, a surprise retirement gift from his wife Betty. They started dating in the same style car and began to date again for fun. Their life together shared commitment and love that extended to their son, granddaughter, family and community.
   The Celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 3, 2012 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Hill and Pastor John McCarroll officiating. Family will receive friends at Celebrate, 301 Front Street, Coeburn after the service Friday. Interment will be 11 A.M. Saturday in the Adkins Cemetery.

    He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.
    He was the son of the late John Joseph Hagy and the late Charma Lee Hagy; also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hagy.

    He was a veteran and served with the U.S. Air Force.
    He received a heart transplant in July 1998 at Vanderbuilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.
    He was the son of the late John Henry Walker and  the late Alma  Walker; also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Joiner; a sister, Agatha Walker and a brother, James Walker.
    Survivors include his wife, Brenda Renfro Walker, Coeburn; a son, Steven Walker Jr. and wife Allison, Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Tina Walker Rowe, Appalachia; two  brothers, Edward 'Jay' Walker , New Market, AL and Lloyd Walker, Navarre, FL; five grandsons Shane, Brandon, Bobby Lee II, Jacob and Ethan; two granddaughters Zoe and Cheyenne; seven sisters, Jean, Margaret, Mae, Gail, Vicky, Brenda and Donna and husbands; sister-in-law, Glenna Brooks; brother-in-law, Harold Markham; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Garland Darnell “Duchie” Thomas, Sr.

Garland Darnell “Duchie” Thomas Sr., 60, of Harlem, New York entered eternal rest on November 1st, 2012. He was born in Dante, Virginia on January 23rd, 1952 to the late Melvin Lewis Thomas Sr. and Dorothy Hardy Thomas Hill. He received his formal education at Coeburn High School where he furthered his education and received an Associate degree in Ministry. He was active in the United States Army and also a truck driver and also an upcoming entrepreneur who loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycles around town.

Garland was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Lewis Thomas and Dorothy Hardy Thomas Hill; two sisters Gearldine Thomas Freeman and Frances Thomas; four brothers Melvin Thomas Jr., Henry “Terrible T” Thomas, Norman Thomas and Harry Lee Thomas as well as several nieces and nephews.

Duchie is survived by two daughters: Michelle “Mimi” Mooney of Coeburn, Virginia and Destiny Thomas of San Bernardino, California; two sons Garland “Gary” Thomas Jr. of Douglasville, Georgia, and Robert (Cindi) Mooney of Knoxville, Tennessee. He was the grandfather of Damien, Darius, Destinee and Deventae Mooney of  Coeburn, Virginia; Nadia Wise of Douglasville, Georgia, Martika Griffin of Thomaston, Georgia; Shanice Rice of Morristown, Tennessee, Cobie and Courtni Mooney of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is also survived by two great grandchildren Yazmine Mooney of Coeburn, Virginia and Audri Griffin of Thomaston, Georgia; two loving sisters Janie Barron of Harlan, New York and Joann Foster of Hampton, Virginia and a special friend Paul Day of Harlan, New York.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, Virginia followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Miller’s Temple in Carbo, Virginia.

       Thelma Bernice Sanders of Wise and formerly of Norton, Virginia, died Monday, November 5, at the age of 86.  Known for her sharp mind and quick wit, Bernice, or "Aunt Reecie" to her family,was a devout Christian lady who devoted her life to caring for her family, especially her aging parents Amos and Cassie Sanders until their deaths.She was fiercely patriotic and was especially proud of her brothers' military service in World War ll.
       She was preceded in death by her parentsand six brothers:John,Howard,Reuben, Roy, Edward, and Farrell,  as well as two sisters Eliza and Dorothy.
        She is survived by two sisters:Mrs. Marie McConnell of Howell, Michigan and Mrs.Leoria Spradlin  and husband Bill of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee as well as many nieces and nephews.
        Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 9,2012, at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, Va. with the Rev. Barry Sarver officiating .The family will receive friends from 11:15-12:00 before the noon service.  Internment will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Estes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.

Coeburn, VA ~ Myrtle Roberson Hall, 92 passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012 at her residence in Coeburn Virginia.
   She born Sept. 18, 1920 and was the daughter of the late C. E. Roberson and Ressie Adkins Roberson. Her father ran a grocery store when Myrtle was a child, loved it and talked about helping him deliver the groceries when she was young.She graduated from Coeburn High School and went on to Radford where she earned a degree to teach school. She taught school at Cranes Nest, Tacoma and Trace Fork. Her Dad put her in the resturant business where she began her business career that lasted her through out life. Businesses include a Drive in Theater, used car lot, recreational area and swimming pool and co founder and co owner of Lonesome Pine Gun and Pawn Shop.
   In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Parkus Dotson; a sister, Dixie Funk; a brother, Charles Roberson, Jr.; nephew, Greg Funk.
   She is survived by Victor Hall, her husband of 23 years; two sons, Rocky Hall, and Travis Hall, and wife, Chasity all of Coeburn; daughters, Freda Frey and Donna Hall; grandchildren, Brett Hall and Megan Hall; great grandson, Gunner Hagan Hall; a niece, Angela Funk Cvetkoski; nephews, Alex Funk, Jerrod Funk, Nick Funk and Heath Funk; special friend, Eula Hughes; special cousins Lucille Collins and Charles Bennett, and a host of other good friends.
   Myrtle was a special lady to all who knew her.
